Art and furniture are passions of ours, and they shape every one of our projects. We work with clients to select and refine pieces and collections, looking for furniture, lighting, paintings and sculpture that add energy to a room and another layer to their story.

Curation

Curating a collection for a client might be the continuum of a home we have designed, or it could be a commission that focuses solely on interior decoration. We love delving into the project, working through the spaces to understand their proportions and details, how the client lives and the way each piece feels within a room. Always responding with nuanced pieces that enrich the interior and express the personality of the client.

Sourcing

We live and breathe art and spend a lot of time visiting artist’s studios, often previewing new works before they go on show and guiding clients through the curation process. That might involve working with their existing art or furniture collection or searching for pieces that will bring continuity to the visual tapestry of the home.

We commission a lot of furniture, particularly dining tables. For the Stellar House, the table reflects the shape of the room. We like it when architecture and furniture overlap.

Collaboration

One of our favourite aspects of this is our collaboration with artists and makers on new commissions. It gives an artist the freedom to explore new ideas, connects clients with the intimate creative process, and produces unique pieces that add a very personal layer to their story.

Consultation

Our consultation process involves the talents of the interiors team at Robson Rak who work closely with each client. We develop a presentation package of 3D drawings that includes the furniture and art proposed within an interactive model that gives clarity around how the collection will be realised within each room. Once the furniture and artworks are confirmed, the process involves a full end-to-end service that covers the following:

  • Full collection list, art and furniture quotes and sign-off by client.
  • Placing orders with galleries, showrooms, or directly with the artists.
  • Managing the delivery process, with furniture supplier, artist and gallery.
  • Execution of final installation, from furniture and objects, to professional artwork hanging.
  • Walk-through with the client and final checks of every detail.
Contact

On holiday in Japan we stumbled across a little gallery in Shimokita that was full of amazing works by a renowned local ceramicist. Discovering a new artist by chance was a highlight, and it’s now another gallery on our radar.
